day nine: cake free
during my lunch break, i was crossing the street as matthew broderick went puttering by me on his piaggio. he looked at me and i smiled to myself as he turned the corner. his old school piaggio puttered up hudson. he looked cold and funny. riding his piaggio in a poofy black northface parka. a lovely parka. ferris you are so lovely. i've seen you now performing, in the west village with your baby, after a performance of shakespeare in the park, the latter two times with your wife, and the latter time you were talking to dustin hoffman. last week i saw helena christensen again with her son. i think that means we are now officially friends. i recall the time i was crossing robertson in la and morgan freeman was in his mercedes. we made eye contact. even though he was wearing sunglasses i could see his caring eyes and those cute freckles. one time at an intersection not far away near 3rd st jerry o'connell let me go first at the intersection even though he had clearly stopped first and i wasn't even to the right of him. he was in an old red convertible. seeing these familiar faces in a city where i don't see too many familiar faces unexpectedly makes me happy. i have a bad habit of always wanting to know who comes in the door when i'm at a cafe or at the library. okay, i don't go to the library, but i always look to see who is coming in. do i think it'll be someone i know? maybe a celeb friend? or am i waiting for paco...
